B.B.E. Gwyn is an aromantic-asexual Asian American author who enjoys diving into realms of low fantasy adventure. She draws inspiration from tabletop role-playing games, yokai folklore, and all kinds of media featuring characters with fun, bizarre powers. Her novels focus on intricate plots and rich character development without any romance or spicy elements, using the full breadth of her pages to offer thrilling adventures in a mysterious world.
Her Lone Thorn series will be an ongoing collection of character-centric plots that do not have to be read in order as it follows individuals who balance everyday life with a world of magic.

I got into D&D quite late but I fell for it hard. Unable to join real-time sessions, I immersed myself in actual-play shows and ran my own asynchronous campaigns. As I slowly explored other TTRPG systems and solo campaigns, I started crafting stories with Savage Worlds Adventure Edition and Mythic Game Master Emulator. My Lone Thorn novels, shaped by dice rolls and random tables, mark the beginning of my writing journey.
inspiration
My work is heavily inspired not only by D&D lore, but by action-adventure anime series like Bleach, Hunter x Hunter, and My Hero Academia, as well as yokai mythology. I’ve combined, simplified, expanded, and adapted the elements that I loved most from each of these into my own unique amalgamation. Whether the result is good or bad is up to you, but I will always love spending my imagination time within this space.

I appreciate the role of romance in novels—it’s a beloved genre and a popular element across many others. However, due to my limited personal experience with romance, I’m more drawn to developing meaningful platonic relationships. This lets my stories focus on pure adventure, magic, and the exploration of unique character dynamics.
